MIMIRIUM is an eco-system of different tools that collects user information and stores it securely on its devices. All users running that software form a distributed network database, which can be used to extract aggregated anonymous information.

Can you tell us how the idea for your startup began?

In the end of 2017, my co-founder Galin Dinkov and I started discussing what are the future of DLT and blockchain technologies. We found out that we shared same values and principles and we both believe that the current fully centralized model of Internet technologies for data collection and management is wrong and there is a chance to be changed.  While we believe that, only the user must be in possession of his data, we also understand the need for data on a global scale for business and statistical purposes. Therefore, we want to give a solution to this issue by protecting the personal data of users, and at the same time, allowing companies to do market studies, fulfilling the General Data Protection Regulation. We are creating a new fairer and safer way for keeping, sharing and using users’ data.

What are you passionate about achieving?

Overall, we in MIMIRIUM believe that owning and managing your own data must be a fundamental right, no matter if the data is in the real or digital world. Our future is each time more connected with information technology; therefore, we should be extremely careful on how we move forward in the internet world. We must be sure that we can control our digital identities and all data we generate in the global network. We must be sure that we receive a fair reward for our time and attention. This can be a new engine of a whole economy model – user-driven and user-centric. Our network is just the first step in this direction.

Which is the use-case that you have presented for the Blockchers Acceleration Programme?

Mimirium Health – a platform for datamining over a health records of GPs and/or Clinics. No personal patient data can be transmitted, all results are aggregated and anonymized. 100% GDPR compliant. All GPs receive payment for the datamining over their part of the data. Fully decentralized. The data generated by them can be very interesting for pharmaceutical and insurance companies but it is also very sensitive. We are building a distributed user-owned database with anonymizing interface (prototype) that allows datamining processes while preserving anonymity of his data. Using DLT we can avoid gathering all this sensitive data in one place and provide 100% GDPR compliance and security.

Why did you choose it?

We believe that the next crucial targets for hackers will become our health data. Providing a extra layer of defense by avoiding creating big honey pods of sensitive data is a step in the right directions. Moreover, in the future we plan to connect this data with the end users and create a model where the users get also paid for using their medical information. We want to make this world safer and fairer for all of us.

What are you most excited about taking part in the acceleration programme?

The opportunity to prove that decentralized models and DLTs are important for our technological future and can be used for common good and well-being. We also will be able to contact and share ideas with some of the best DLT start-ups in Europe which is amazing. We are eager to meet them and discuss the future of DLT.
