Blockchain protocol for responsibly sourced raw materials. MINESPIDER is currently the only open protocol focused on the raw material tracking, with the competition focusing on private blockchains.
MINESPIDER enables clean products by bringing greater transparency, traceability and circularity to global supply chains. It’s an open blockchain protocol for creating digital certificates that offers all stakeholders the opportunity to introduce and track the origins of the materials, sustainability metrics of suppliers, and circular (recycling) systems.
Consumers have little knowledge of where their garments come from & the conditions in which they’re made.
Threadcounts plans to partner with Etisha Collective (EC) to set up an end-to-end traceability solution for their sustainable towels. Starting with EC’s organic cotton producers in Turkey, we will track the cotton to their processing facilities (yarning/weaving/etc.) and then track the finished towels to the retail store. Consumers will scan a QR code (embroidered in the fabric) to view their towel’s ‘Product Passport’ and understand where their towel was made and how sustainably it was produced.
