Alastria offers its members a public permissioned DLT that is compliant with EU legislation. It offers the possibility to develop new Digital Business Models and/or improve efficiencies through the use of blockchain technology reducing the reputational and compliance risks.

Its 426 current members not only use Alastria infrastrucure for the development of their blockchain applications but are also contributing to foster the creation of a solid and energetic ecosystem. They are organised in committees and actively contribute on a voluntary basis to technical developments, research and innovation, legal challenges, etc.

This is in general highly valued by SMEs which are enabled to easily cooperate with big corporate and other SMEs in pursuing their goals.

ALASTRIA WORKS INTERNATIONALLY TO ENSURE THE FULFILLMENT OF STANDARDS
Interoperability of exisiting blockchains is crutial to improve its usability for businesses. Alastria members are conscious and have agreed to devote serious work to contribute to the development of international technical standards. In March 2019 Alastria hosted the ITU meeting in Madrid, in its decision to promote is objective.
New ways of doing business will come up for smart SMEs to incorporate into their value prop. Undeniably, blockchain is still at its launching pad. It is a participatory technology and those involved today in its developments will have greater chances to succeed.
